Welsh's Station Playground
"Welsh's Station" is the name selected by the community for the new playground completed in 2018. The J. Marion Sims Foundation earned the naming rights by making the largest contribution to the park building fund. They used the Community Heart and Soul program to allow the residents to choose the new name and Welsh's Station was the popular choice.
This uniquely designed playground reflects the history of Kershaw, SC. Many components are included that were important to the community's growth and development. Children can visit Haile Gold Mine, Welsh's Station, Springs Mill, The Center Theater, Kershaw High School, Kershaw Mercantile, Thomas Drug Store, and Brewer Clinic. They can also enjoy the train and the firetruck which represent the railroad's part in Kershaw's history, and the great volunteer firemen who have served Kershaw for over 100 years.
It's not too late to purchase a picket or brick to be included in the playground area! See Merchandise for Sale for more details.
