CALLING ALL NATURE LOVERS AND BIRDERS  to THE Stevens park Outdoor Amphitheater from 11 am - 12 noon for a "Backyard Birding and Beyond" Presentation by Dr. Larry King.  This special event is part of Nature and Art Day in the Park on Saturday, October 23rd, 2021.

Dr. Larry King is a retired family physician who has lived the majority of his life in New Jersey, which he considers a very beautiful place.  From childhood he has been fascinated by the natural world around him including birds, but it has only been since 1994 that his engagement with birds and "Birding" has really taken wing, so to speak.  He learned that there is more to be appreciated in the backyard and nearby than what most people realize, though he has also travelled widely in the US and even abroad to enjoy the beauty of bird plumage, song, and movement, the art, music and dance of the avian world.  Since moving to the Carolinas a bit over two years ago, hea has been busy learning what details characterize the birdlife of the area, in particular the Piedmont.  There is always more to learn.

CALLING ALL THOSE WHO LIKE TO  "KEEP THE "MUSIC BEAT" to the Stevens Park Outdoor Amphitheater on Saturday, October 23rd from 1-2 pm for participation in a DRUM CIRCLE. Mr. Gareth Burns is a local talented drummer and instructor of percussion who will lead the fun in the "Drum Circle." Heis eager to bring all drummers or "would be" drummers together for this fun afternoon on stage in the park.  You do not have to be an experienced or skilled drummer to participate.  Garetj  loves anything drums, or just jamming with other musicians and even people he does not know.  He has been playing drums and percussion since 1985 in his high school marching band and college marching band and various church and praise bands.
